How did it all begin?
Coleford Parish Council adopted ‘A Green Charter’ endeavouring for Coleford to be carbon net zero by 2045
and about the findings of the Village Survey which found that there is concern in the village about
Climate Change. A meeting was hosted with a talk by Steve Mewes from Green Wedmore on the way Wedmore has done so much to become net zero and how we could approach ways for Coleford to reduce our emissions into the environment.

Coleford Climate Action came into being through the findings of Coleford’s Village Survey which found among
many other findings that there is a concern in the village about Climate Change.
The Steering Group of Coleford Climate Action now has seven officers who were elected at our second meeting where we also settled on our name – Coleford Climate Action (CCA).
The group came together in a joint awareness of the fragile state of the environment, biodiversity, and the
desperate need for action to adapt to a future where all that we accept as normal could disappear.
